About Me

Hello there! I am a public speaker and writer based near Seattle, Washington.

I am passionate about communicating the truths of the Christian faith in a way that reflects the beauty and attractiveness of Jesus Christ.

For the past 15 years this has taken me around the globe into a wide range of settings including universities, high schools, board rooms, churches, and public policy rooms.

I love people and I enjoy collaborative thinking with others, exploring answers to questions others have, asking my own questions, and wrestling with the complexity and jagged edges of life.

Education · Work · Inspirations

Although the culture in which we live is tired, indifferent, or, in some cases, bothered by the Christian church, many have observed that we cannot deny a haunting of the transcendent. It’s as though the harder we try to avoid God, the more we run into him. Regardless of where we locate ourselves on the spectrum of faith, we all have questions. Perhaps now, more than in recent memory, our world is experiencing profound and rapid changes and amidst these changes we all sense a deep need for hope in difficult situations and light in darkness. This, in short, is what I believe God has called me to embody in the form of verbal and written communication.

I hold theology degrees from Tyndale University College (now Tyndale University) and University of London. I value my academic education enormously, but I also view my years of travel around the world as a rich education in and of itself. It’s afforded me the privilege to learn at a profound level about the struggles, joys, hopes, and heartaches of the human experience.

I have written and continue to write for various publications and my writing is featured frequently in The Seattle Times. My interest in some of the pressing cultural conversations of our time has inspired me to develop a series of seminars on how we can navigate difficult conversations in meaningful ways. Whatever the context may be, I strive to be a voice that represents grace, truth, kindness, and clarity.
